Hi ! | I’m Jana, the founder | owner of earthðer.
The journey to founding earthðer began in 2013, when my father was both diagnosed with and taken from this physical realm by metastasized esophageal cancer. In the wake of his passing, I was left with a profound sense of loss, but also a calling. I felt compelled to help others cultivate awareness of their physical, emotional, and spiritual misalignments, in hopes of easing suffering and preventing such heartache. From that place, my studies in alternative medicine and holistic lifestyles began.
Raised among the slow-moving rivers and pine forests of Mississippi, I like to think I still carry those roots with me today — along with pieces of my mother who worked as a caring home health nurse that explored natural medicine, and a father who carved his own unconventional path as an artist (a potter, as he’d say). I was immersed early on in both care and creativity. I believe I was always meant to make a positive, nurturing impact that followed a path outside the conventional.
After a childhood steeped in inedible plant concoctions and a few mud pies, followed by an adolescence of eye-opening, mind-expanding experiences, I found myself having the privilege of apprenticing with a Southern Folk Herbalist in 2014. This experience deeply shaped my understanding of plants and natural healing. Drawn to a deeper understanding of the physical body, I pursued massage therapy and graduated from the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga in 2017. After graduation, I ran a private practice in Northern California, where I continued studying medicinal plants, curated non-alcoholic elixir bar menus for private events, and explored permaculture methods.

Seeking a more clinical and integrative approach to herbal medicine, I went on to study at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism, completing clinical training in Alchemical Herbalism in 2022. Later that year, I joined the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism and studied under the mentorship of Chinese Medicine Practitioner Dana Hutchinson, RH (AHG), at the Wildflower Clinic, later completing an in-depth mentorship focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostics, women’s health, and emotional wellness in 2023.
Throughout my journey with herbalism, my passion for therapeutic bodywork has remained central. I trained in Thai Healing Massage (2021), Table Thai under mentorship (2022), and Ashiatsu Massage (2023–2025), continually expanding the ways I can support healing, alignment, nervous system balance, and vitality (Qi). I remain committed to ongoing continuing education in both massage therapy and herbal medicine.
Now based in the Vail Valley of Colorado, I offer holistic massage therapy, herbal consultations (also available virtually), a pop-up herbal elixir bar, and Tao Cha ceremonies rooted in presence, education, and self-awareness. earthðer is the living expression of this path, where bodywork and herbalism come together to help individuals reclaim sovereignty of their bodies - physically, emotionally, and spiritually - while easing suffering and fostering connection to self, community, and the living planet.
